Becoming a Host family | Homestay in london, accommodation for student in london
HomestayLondon (Hostlondon) is increasingly being managed by private companies that provide
agents with an opportunity to offer another service to their clients.
The quality of student accommodation in the main international
study destinations has increased exponentially in recent years, driven to a
large part by investment in accommodation by private companies (see
http://www.hostlondon.net/). This has opened up a new revenue opportunity for
agencies, as Host London Homestays, which offers homestay as well as
residential accommodation to InternationalStudent Accommodation London in the UK.
“We previously found agents would just book tuition and
accommodation through the school they were booking the course with,” he says.
“The agent would usually get a commission for the course but not on the
accommodation element of their booking. Nowadays agents are becoming a lot more
savvy, and are breaking down their booking to achieve maximum commission on
each element of their booking. They are booking the tuition with the school and
receiving a commission on that and then the accommodation through an agency
such as ourselves and receiving a separate commission on that as well.”
It’s a win-win situation for the accommodation providers too as
in-country agents not only market their accommodation provision but also keep
them informed of their market trends. HostFamily Accommodation, the accredited lettings and operational management their overseas marketing
relies heavily on “building relationships with in-country facilitating
companies” including agents. “We work with a number of these institutions
directly to both gain insight into what these students are looking for, as well
as have ambassadors on the ground to market our sites.”
